maierAmerica Expands Manufacturing in Georgia

Rotary joint maker moves into 20,500-square-meter facility in Norcross area

maierAmerica is expanding its manufacturing footprint in Gwinnett County, Georgia. The company, which is a subsidiary of Germany’s Christian Maier GmbH & Co. KG, is moving into a 20,500-square-foot facility in the Norcross area that it three times larger than its previous Gwinnett facility.

“This expansion reflects maierAmerica’s commitment to meeting increasing demand and positioning ourselves as a leader in the industry,” maierAmerica CEO Rob Kuehl says. “We look forward to the growth this will bring the community, as we are committed to providing second chances and offering unique opportunities for individuals to rebuild and thrive through meaningful employment and skill development.”

The new facility was officially opened on Tuesday during a ribbon cutting ceremony where the German Consul General for Atlanta and officials from the AHK German American Chamber of Commerce were in attendance. The expansion comes as maierAmerica, a maker of rotary joints for several industries, prepares to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its expansion into the U.S. market in September 2025.

“Maier’s continued expansion highlights the strong industrial and cultural relationship between Germany and the U.S., particularly in key states like Georgia,” German Consul General Melanie Moltmann says.

Gwinnett County and Partnership Gwinnett officials were also excited about the expansion and the company’s decision to remain in the county.

“We are thrilled maierAmerica chose Gwinnett County for its expansion,” Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson said. “maierAmerica’s commitment to sustainability, eco-friendly practices, and energy-efficient technologies directly align with Gwinnett’s sustainability initiatives, while positively impacting our community through furthered job growth.”

Gwinnett County government, Partnership Gwinnett, the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and Georgia Power worked together to land the expansion.

“We’re excited for another global expansion into Gwinnett County,” Partnership Gwinnett Vice President Deven Cason said. “maierAmerica’s commitment to workforce development for technical professionals and specialized internship programs will help us build a stronger and even more skilled workforce. We look forward to their continued growth and success.”
